In 1916 a new seafood restaurant opened by a family of Italian immigrants named Castagnola began selling fresh crab & crab cocktails to passersby on Fisherman's Wharf.A tradition began with this first offering that continues today, and has made Castagnola's world famous. Currently, and for many years, owned by General Andrew Lolli and his family, this wonderful place is a favorite with both locals and visitors for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Spacious, with two full floors overlooking the fishing boat port, both groups and families find the dining rooms comfortable and inviting.
