John Murio's Trophy Room (Haight Ashbury)
The Trophy Room qualifies as a true Haight Ashbury dive bar. Pool tables, motorcycles parked out front, loud jukebox playing classic rock & roll. The clientele is distinctly eclectic, ranging from tattooed rockers to yuppies and college students. Freaks abound, ranging in age from the newest streeters to mumbling old hippies, hung out too long since 1969. The evidence of acid-heads is distinct. Expect to be panhandled, a lot. Be careful at night, or anytime in the Haight. If you come through the door wearing your latest rainbow T-shirt, just purchased down the street, everyone will know you're a rube. ;Be cool, man
